In 2017, Andy was the first elected Mayor of Greater Manchester.  He has worked closely with the ten Greater Manchester council leaders to:

• Bring our buses back under public control to create an integrated London-style public transport system in Greater Manchester
• Build over 100km of safe, segregated walking and cycleways – the Bee Network – by the end of the year
• Rewrite the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, reducing the amount of green belt allocated for development by over 60%
• Set 2038 as the target date for Greater Manchester to be zero-carbon
• Agree to build 50,000 truly affordable homes, 30,000 of which will be for social rent
